This development comes at an important time for the Big Tech firm as it aims to further scale paid messaging within WhatsApp. Meta’s family of applications (FoA), which includes Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads, saw revenue rise 33% to $55.91 billion in the March quarter. Of this, FoA’s ‘other income’ rose 74% to $885 million; Most of this revenue came from WhatsApp paid messaging and subscription revenues, and the rest came from advertisements.
