Easter dispute allegedly ends with shots fired at house

A man allegedly fired a gun multiple times into his neighbor’s house following an argument late on Easter Sunday.

Police were called to Albert Street in Wollongong, south of Sydney, at around 6.40pm following reports of a shooting in a public place.

Allegedly, the police discovered that a gun had been fired several times into a house following an argument between two people.

Following investigation, a 53-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Wollongong Police Station.

The man was charged with five felonies, including discharging a firearm into a residence with disregard for safety.

He is also charged with possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of unregistered ammunition, and aggravated breaking and entering while armed with a dangerous weapon.

It was stated that no injuries occurred during the incident.

The man spent the night behind bars and faces a bail hearing Monday morning.
