All those killed were assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command in Des Moines, Lowa.
The names of three of the other six soldiers are as follows:
Sergeant Amor’s husband, Joey Amor, said the past month has been a case of “constant anxiety,” the Associated Press reported.
“You could see it from the movements. He knew something was coming, but he didn’t know to what scale,” he said.
She was moved off base to a shipping container-style building a week before the drone strike, and her husband said the building had no defenses.
“They were dispersing because they were afraid their base would be attacked, and they felt it was safer to be in small groups in separate locations,” Mr. Amor added.
The couple texted, joking about two hours before he was killed.
“He didn’t respond at all in the morning,” she said.
