The story focuses on Rachel and Nicky, who travel to meet her family ahead of their wedding. What starts as discomfort quickly turns into paranoia. During a stopover during their journey, Rachel encounters a mysterious old man who reveals himself to be her ancestor. Boston told ScreenRant that the series was originally conceived as a limited story, suggesting it works as a complete narrative on its own. At the same time, he did not refuse to continue this. He came up with the idea of turning the series into an anthology, with each season exploring a different existential fear through a new story. There’s also room to revisit existing characters. In an interview with Deadline, Boston talked about possibilities such as future curse-related weddings where the now-immortal Rachel could return as a witness.
For now, the show remains in this uneasy space: it’s over, but not completely closed. To be honest, it suits his tone a little too much.
