Knicks NBA Finals courtside tickets at MSG sell for nearly $280,000 each

The New York Knicks are one win away from making their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999, and if the crowds around Madison Square Garden following their victory are any indication, there will be turmoil in New York City if that happens.
Moreover, the entrance ticket to the “Garden” for the Finals is bound to be expensive, as in the play-offs. However, no one might have expected that two courtside seats would already be sold for this much.
sports business reporter Darren Rovell Confirmed the sale of two court tickets for the NBA Finals at MSG for the high price of $279,804.

The purchase was made through StubHub, the second ticket company for what will be the Knicks’ first home game of the Finals. This will be Game 3 as the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs have better streaks than the Knicks in the NBA Playoffs.
It’s a jaw-dropping statement for a price this size, but it’s also crazy to see the potential history of one of the most storied franchises in sports.

It’s been 53 years since the Knicks’ last NBA championship, dating back to the years of Walt “Clyde Frazier”, Phil Jackson, Dick Barnett, Willis Reed and Bill Bradley. The Knicks won two championships in 1970 and 1973; Red Holzman’s roster is forever etched in basketball lore.
Since that victory in 1973, the Knicks have made the NBA Finals just twice; The first was in 1994, when the Houston Rockets crushed New York’s dreams with a 90-84 Game 7 victory.

Then, in 1999, the likes of Patrick Ewing, Latrell Sprewell, Allan Houston and current Knicks coach Rick Brunson, the father of All-Star guard Jalen Brunson, returned to the Finals and faced a potential opponent this year, the Spurs.
However, Tim Duncan and his team got the job done in just five games and celebrated their championship on the MSG hardwood floor by defeating the Knicks 78-77 in Game 5.
Knicks fans are hoping that isn’t the case this time, but they have to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers once again after taking a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals following their road win on Saturday night. New York has won 10 consecutive playoff games, and their only two losses against the Atlanta Hawks in the First Round have come by one point.
As a result, fans are already looking at tickets for Game 3 at the Garden. As of Sunday night, the cheapest ticket to enter the building on StubHub is sold for $3,554 in Section 418.

By comparison, the cheapest ticket for Game 1 of the NBA Finals to be played at Paycor Center, home of the Oklahoma City Thunder, who defeated the Spurs 2-1 in the Western Conference Finals, was $1,252 on StubHub. The single floor seat available will sell for $32,106 as of Sunday night.
The Knicks can clinch their berth in the NBA Finals on Memorial Day and face the Cavaliers in Game 4 in Cleveland at 8 p.m.
