SP Announces Tight Security At Srisailam Over Maha Shivaratri

Anantapur: A total of 1,782 police personnel and personnel have been deployed to supervise the Maha Shivaratri festivities in Srisailam, Nandyal district SP Sunil Shoran said on Friday.
Senior police officials, including other SPs and DSPs from various neighboring districts, met at Srisailam on Friday to review the situation.
The entire area is divided into 10 sectors. SP Shoran explained that sector-wise duties have been explained using a detailed map to ensure effective coordination and monitoring.
Additional police forces have been seized from Kurnool, Anantapur, Annamayya and Kadapa districts.
The distribution of officers and persons is as follows: ASPs – 11, DSPs – 24, CIs – 78, SIs – 132, ASIs/HCs – 303, PCs – 568, WPCs – 88, Home Guards – 386, Women Home Guards – 30, APSP and AR personnel – 3 RSI-led 34 personnel, Special Parties – 3 Each of the RSIs heads 24 staff.
The entire Brahmotsavam will be monitored 24 hours a day through the Command and Control system. The police were advised to interact with devotees in a polite manner and guide them through their queries.
A strict vigil will be maintained at the laddu stalls to ensure regular distribution of prasadam.
According to Srisailam temple sources, around 79,000 devotees came for darshan till Friday night. A large number of Padayatra and Shivamala devotees, along with many more, are expected to arrive on Saturday.
