Spain PM Pedro Sanchez tells Trump ‘no to war’, rejects US use of bases for Iran strikes

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Wednesday responded to US President Donald Trump’s criticism of Madrid’s refusal to allow US planes to use its bases to attack Iran.

“The position of the Spanish government can be summed up in four words: no war,” he said in a televised speech a day after Trump threatened to cut off all trade with Spain.

“We will not be complicit in something that harms the world and is contrary to our values ​​and interests simply out of fear of retaliation.”
