A major landmark in Birmingham has been cordoned off by police due to an ongoing incident. West Midlands Police have established a significant cordon around Birmingham Library and Centenary Square.

Photos taken from the scene show marked police cars, ambulances and a fire truck in the area. Police officers also appear to be on duty at the cordon stretching across the square. The nature of the incident remains unclear. A woman who noticed the presence of the emergency room said: Birmingham Live: “Serious incident at Birmingham library. The whole place was cordoned off and large numbers of police, firefighters and ambulances were dispatched.”
