Gunman kills tourist at Teotihuacan, claims he ‘sacrificed’ victims

The gunman who killed a Canadian tourist and injured several others at Mexico’s ancient pyramids on Monday reportedly bragged about sacrificing his victims, according to a video taken by one of his hostages.
Julio César Jasso, 27, who was reportedly obsessed with Adolf Hitler, shouted as he pointed a gun at terrified tourists atop the Pyramid of the Moon in Mexico’s Teotihuacan ruins, just outside Mexico City.
“Don’t move, or I will sacrifice you,” he said. New York Post reported.
“This place was built for sacrifice. Not for visiting and taking photos,” he said in the video taken by a tourist.

Jasso allegedly timed the attack to coincide with the 27th anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting in Colorado and Adolf Hitler’s birthday.
“See. I keep my promise. Two damn Koreans died there. I sacrificed them like dogs,” he said.
“Fuck you all coming from Europe, you ain’t coming back,” he continued.

Seven people were shot at the Teotihuacan complex just outside Mexico City. Ruins of Mexico most visited archaeological sitesIt attracts millions of international visitors every year to its high-rise buildings dating from the pre-Hispanic period.
In total, 13 people were injured. The condition of the other injured was not disclosed, but when the shooting started, some people, including those who climbed the pyramids, fell.

Among those hospitalized, six were from the United States, three from Colombia, one from Russia, one from Brazil, one from the Netherlands and one from Canada, the local government said. The youngest person injured was 6 years old; Mexican officials said the oldest was 61 years old.
Acting alone, Jasso shot himself to death. Authorities later found a gun, a knife and ammunition at the scene.
