Hefin David, Welsh Labour politician and MS for Caerphilly, dies suddenly

Galli labor politician Hefin David suddenly died at the age of 47.

David has been a member of Senedd (MS) for Caerphilly since 2016.

Paying tribute, the first minister and the leader of the War Eluned Morgan called him “a” elite politician “to be largely missed.

The Gwent police said that a 47 -year -old man was unresponsive to a property in Nelson in Caerphilly on Tuesday evening and that death was not treated as a suspicious.

His partner was Ms. Vikki Howlls, the Minister of Higher Education Cynon Valley, Further and Higher Education Minister in the War Workers Government.

The first Minister said: “We were very upset about Hefin’s sudden death. Our thoughts are with his family at this terrible time.

“Hefin was a very popular member of the workers’ family. He served Caerphilly with pride and passion as a council member and a member of Senedd.

“He was an extraordinary politician, warm and enthusiastic and great communicator – especially on behalf of his components.

“It will be very longing.”

Gwent Police Chief Constable Mark Hobrough, “his thoughts and heartfelt condolences” Mr. David’s family, friends and colleagues, he said.

“After joining the Gwent police as the chief director of the area covering Caerphilly, I worked closely with Hefin and found it as an interesting and thoughtful individual.

“The commitment to our communities, a public official for Caerphilly, will be an important loss.”

Mr. David, who was elected to the Cardiff Bay in 2016, was one of the leading Labor Party Backbench members and never afraid to oppose the party line.
