A spokesperson for Stoke-on-Trent College said: “Early this morning, a distressed member of the public entered the Cauldon area of the college before students arrived on campus.
“Police have been contacted to ensure the situation is managed safely and appropriately, in line with our security procedures. Access to university buildings has been temporarily restricted as a precaution while the incident is resolved.
These measures have been taken to prioritize the safety and well-being of our staff and students. Police immediately intervened, provided support to the individual and removed them from the building. The college opened normally from 9 am. “We would like to thank the emergency services teams and our staff for their rapid response.”
