Student found dead in hostel of BITS Pilani Goa campus; cops launch probe

The police said on Sunday, August 17, 2025, said that a 20 -year -old student of the Bits Pilani campus in Goa had died.
According to the police, the post -death report at the Regional Hospital in Margao remained inconclusive and sent for toxicological tests to determine the exact cause of Vissera.
Student Kushagra Jain was found on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11:00 in the hostel room in Vasco in the South Goa region.
Police said that the died student detained various materials, including energy drink boxes in the hostel room.
An unnatural death case was recorded and the management of the students and the institute were recorded.
Student, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was a third grade student in economic and computer science.
Police official who quoted the students recorded in the statements, said he played table tennis on Friday night before returning to the student’s room.
Authorized, the room was locked in the inside and the authorities were informed if there was no response from him on Saturday morning.
In a media statement published here, Bits Pilani said they were very upset about the loss of one of his students.
“The 3rd year Economy and Computer Science Student Kushagra Jain (born in UP), when his room was opened at around 11.00 hours in his bed was found unresponsively in his bed and the medical team confirmed that he died in his sleep.” He said.
The Institute, the police was informed and said that he started the necessary procedures to determine the cause of death and said, “We are completely cooperating.”
“The loss of a young life is an irreparable tragedy, and the entire campus community is deeply shocked and grief. Our thoughts and prayers with our family, friends and all members affected by this sudden loss.” He said.
