Stunned couple find a World War Two Nazi bunker underneath their home… and then make an eerie discovery after excavating their entire garden to uncover it

A couple was marked with eerie Nazi expressions under their homes after duging all their gardens to reveal. World War II discovered the Nazi shelter.

35 -year -old Shaun Tullier and his 32 -year -old wife Caroline, after moving in October 2021, the shelter of their homes on the Guernsey Island revealed 26FT shelter.

After removing more than 100 tons of soil from the front gardens, it was finally greeted with a frightening staircase to two large rooms and a corridor.

There are even a series of German sentences on the walls of the base, including reading ‘Achtung Feind Hort Mit’ – which means ‘attention, the enemy listens’.

The couple from Tortall has decided to turn them into their own game rooms with a shelter table and a gym. They hoped to finish painting in November, but they decided to keep the creepy text in subtlety.

The couple was aware that the property was used as a German weapon placement, but they always wondered if it was always hidden below the surface.

Such warfare structures were left behind after the German forces invaded the channel islands from 1940 to 1945 and transformed the islands under the orders of Adolf Hitler into an impregnated castle.

Only when Shaun and Caroline began to renew their front gardens, the previous owners of the house contacted and confirmed their doubts.

Shaun said: ‘I was born in Guernsey, so I always knew the shelters, but when Guernsey people wanted to fill all the shelters when they returned to Guernsey after the war.

“ Many people still have a shelter here, but they are on the road and gardens – not under the house!

“ You cannot start digging everywhere to try and learn how these shelters are – where they are – where they are – how deep they are.

‘We knew that the real foundation of the house was used as a German weapon store – but what we don’t know is the room.

‘We’ve always thought,’ imagine! ‘But we didn’t have any real information around him. ‘

Shaun explained how the couple initially wanted to turn their front gardens into a turning point – so they dug and pulled it during the works.

While Shaun was working as a carpenter, he made some joinery boards to sell in the Facebook market – when the old owner of the house contacted him and gave him a clue about a war building underlying his property.

He said: ‘The old owner of the house contacted me – recognized the very pink cuisine in the photos. He said, oh, did you find the rooms under your house?

‘Then I answered, “Oh, so there are rooms!” He said, ‘Yes, we used to play there as a child, my father filled him – I know they were in front of the house.

“ It was very interesting – so I said to my wife, we’ll have to dig the driver again – a week after downloading.

‘I told my friend the news and thought it was coming ace – so I replied, if you take the excavator, I’ll dig!’

Finally, they dug 100 tons of floor and discovered the entrance of the bunker.

The Bunker consisted of two main rooms measuring 17FT to 10FT and 17FT x 20FT, and a 30FT x four ft -wide corridor.

26FT down to the shelter level from floor level to ground level. Some features discovered by the family were many old bottles, rubbles, water, tile floor, an escape cover and German writing on the walls.

Shaun said: ‘You can’t really put words. It is good to have this date and having it, but I couldn’t imagine it – it brings you back especially when you go down. Cold and moist.

“ He does this, they did not have a choice. This is not just rooms for us, but a part of history. ‘

Shaun added: ‘This is not something you find every day! We definitely hold the article – and we can get someone who can explain the calligraphy again, otherwise it will disappear. Even the weather faded him a little.

So we can frame it in this way. My wife is not great, she wants the house to be built – not shelter!

‘But for the last three years, I have promised everyone a Halloween party, so the fingers have passed this year – it is my duty to protect.’
