Home truths on housing target in leaked Treasury advice

The Ministry of State did not shake the testimony of the Ministry of State, which warns that labor does not meet the housing target and to increase taxes.
Independent recommendations from the Treasury department sent to ABC withoutly contain subtitles calling for “additional income and expenditure discounts ında to“ not be covered ”and to obtain a sustainable budget until 2029.
Although he acknowledged that the Treasury’s advice was “accidentally”, Treasurer Jim Chalmers said that such events could be from time to time.
“I am quite comfortable about this,” he said to journalists in Canberra on Monday.
“The Treasury advises governments about both political persuasion – this advice cannot always be sufficiently caught in subtitles.”
In May, a report dated 2025 from the National Housing Supply and Purchasing Council (another independent government recommendation) warned that the Labor Party will remain below its target with approximately 300,000 houses.
In March, the Australian Property Council followed a report that the government should build 462,000 houses to achieve its 2029 target.
When asked whether the government regrets a housing target, Dr Chalmers said that the government should be ambitious.
“To meet this, we prefer to work at every hour of a big, ambitious, difficult goal and at any time of the watch… It was to build very few houses than to continue the approach of our predecessors,” he said.
The government also tried to address its profitability by spending on the National Disability Insurance Program and proposing more taxes for over $ 3 million super balances.
Dr Chalmers promised to strengthen the Australian economy before a trip to South Africa, where he will meet his colleagues in other G20 countries while dealing with “extreme global economic uncertainty”.
As leaders discuss capital flows, supply chains, critical minerals and problems in their communities, economic ties can be strengthened with countries such as Indonesia, Japan, England and Germany.

However, one of the main foci of Labour’s second term economic agenda in Turkey will increase productivity.
An economic reform round table agenda in August prepared the first day of the reserve bank Governor Michele Bullock, the President of the Productivity Commission, Danielle Wood, the second day and the Treasury Secretary Jenny Wilkinson until the third day.
Opposition leader Sussan Ley claimed that the government has ignored some of the most important ways in the productivity puzzle.
Dr Chalmers said he could not invite every industry, but he said there would be many opportunities for people to contribute.
