Truck driver killed in fiery crash on Sydney’s M7

A fiery crash in Sydney’s west has killed a truck driver and caused traffic chaos.
Emergency services rushed to the M7 Motorway near Elizabeth Drive in Cecil Hills at around 12.30pm on Monday following the crash.
After hitting the roadside barrier, the truck rolled over and burst into flames.
After the fire was extinguished, the dead body of the truck driver was found under the rubble.
Footage of a car driving past the fire shows huge flames engulfing the vehicle.
Firefighters battled the blaze for hours and had to deal with multiple reignitions.
“Crews arrived this morning to extinguish the tire flare-up,” NSW Fire and Rescue Inspector Adam Dewberry told the Daily Telegraph.
“There were serious concerns for the driver when they received the call. A search of the area was carried out but unfortunately once the fire was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW and the RFS the driver was found to be in the vehicle.”

All lanes of southbound traffic on the M7 Motorway between Elizabeth Drive and Cowpasture will remain closed and delays are expected to continue throughout Monday morning.
Authorities warned northbound motorists would also be affected and said “intermittent closures” would be implemented as the vehicle moved away.
The police examined the scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
Anyone with dashcam footage or information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
