Sudarshan Reddy Urges Better Use of Polytechnic Colleges

Nizamabad:State government advisor P. Sudarshan Reddy on Wednesday urged students and youth to make better use of polytechnic colleges to increase employment and self-employment opportunities.

Accompanied by district collector Ila Tripathi, he visited the Government Polytechnic College in Navipet and inspected the infrastructure, teaching standards and staff.

Reddy noted that many polytechnic colleges have been established in the district to provide immediate livelihood opportunities, but enrollment remains low. He directed the officials to create more awareness about the available courses.

He said that Civil and Mechanical courses are already offered in Navipet college, while Robotics and Computer Science courses will be offered from the next academic year.

Speaking to the media, he said that the authorities were instructed to ensure that there is no shortage of drinking water during the summer and to provide sufficient water. He also urged the public to pay taxes to local institutions for the improvement of civic amenities.

He said the ministries have been directed to control the production and sale of adulterated food items and ensure public health. Steps are also being taken to expedite the construction of Indiramma houses and ensure availability of sand and gravel.

Efforts are on to locate a palm oil mill that will benefit farmers in Nizamabad and Nirmal districts, Reddy added.

State Urdu Academy president Taher Bin Handan, agriculture department commissioner Gadugu Gangadhar, state cooperative union limited president Manala Mohan Reddy, RDO Rajendra Kumar and others were present.
