Supercheap Auto owner moves quickly to name new CEO

21 October 2025 12:41 | News

The company, which owns Supercheap Auto and Rebel Sports, moved quickly to appoint a new CEO after its last executive was sacked over an undisclosed relationship with a former employee.

Super Retail Group announced on Tuesday that Paul Bradshaw, managing director of the BCF (Boating, Camping, Fishing) chain, will take on the role of CEO and managing director from November 1.

Mr Bradshaw has over 30 years of retail experience in Australia and the UK; this includes a decade in a senior role at Coles.

Super Retail Group said it has led BCF’s transformation into a clear category leader since joining the company in 2019.

“Paul has an outstanding sense of retail, leads with a clear focus on the customer and is highly respected by his team and colleagues,” said Judith Swales, president of Super Retail Group.

BCF’s current general manager of retail operations, Michael Wassman, has been promoted to Mr Bradshaw’s old role.

Mr Bradshaw will be paid a base salary of $1.2 million and could receive up to a further $2.8 million in short- and long-term bonuses.

He will replace Anthony Heraghty, who was sacked in September after a decade as chief executive of Super Retail Group.

The board said at the time that Mr Heraghty’s employment was terminated “with immediate effect” due to his relationship with the company’s former human resources manager.

He said that Mr Heraghty had provided new information on the matter and that he now considered his previous statements to be inadequate.
