Digging By GVMC For Underground Drainage Raising Concerns

Visakhapatnam: The Great Visakhapatnam Municipal Company’s (GVMC) wing of Urban Society Development (UCD) is leading the efforts to improve urban infrastructure, focusing on expanding the underground drainage (UGD) network throughout the city.

However, the fact that the project was carried out in terms of road excavation has led to increasing concerns between the inhabitants.

In various settlements, including Seethammedhara, Chaicania Nagar and Jalaripeta, the roads of the roads have been excavated for drainage studies. However, both drivers and pedestrians have been created by creating a danger or hurriedly patched.

“They left a way a month ago. But GVMC dug this path once again for drainage.

The situation is equally insecure in the intensively populated slum areas. S. Damaayti, a fisherman who goes to sell fish all over the city, shared his or her or her ordered: ım I have shifted many times in places like Jalaripeta and MVP colony because of irregularly excavated roads. ”

The GVMC made an ambitious plan to make a 2,160 kilometers of UGD pipeline throughout the city. Approximately 60 percent of the households were brought to the UGD network. The civilian body aims to gradually meet the remaining 40 percent. As part of this, Pendurthi will be planned to receive a 226 km UGD line, while Gajuwaka and Malkapuram will receive 429 km UGD. In addition, 413 km drainage infrastructure is planned for Madhurawada, Endada and Kommadi and is currently installed 311 km to Anakapalle and Bheemili.

Tata Projects is running the project in two stages. According to GVMC sources, all infrastructure is expected to be completed by next year. During a recent review meeting at the Capital Region Development Office Office in Vijayawada, the Minister of Municipal and Urban Development ordered the completion of the first stage until September and underlining the urgency in the implementation of the project.
