Search underway at Larimer County Landfill for possible body

A spokesman for the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said investigators with the sheriff’s and coroner’s offices were searching for a possible body at the Larimer County Landfill.
A preliminary investigation into the report of a missing adult “indicates the man likely died at the Larimer County Landfill,” spokeswoman Kate Kimble told the Coloradoan. Search efforts began on February 11 and continued on February 12.
Members of the Larimer County Search and Rescue team and Larimer County Department of Health and Environment and landfill personnel assisted in the search, Kimble said.
“No foul play is suspected and there is no risk to public safety,” Kimble said.
Kimble said no additional information was yet available regarding the missing person or the search.
The search was isolated to a specific area of the landfill. The rest of the landfill remained open with no restrictions, according to the landfill’s website and the status log on its phone line.
This is a developing story that will be updated.
