Two people aged 90 die in Barnet house fire

A man and woman, both aged 90, died in a house fire in north London.
London Fire Brigade (LFB) were called to a semi-detached house on Albemarle Road, Barnet; Here a fire broke out on the ground floor shortly before 02:00 GMT.
It was determined that the bodies removed from the house by the fire crews died at the scene.
The Metropolitan Police said their next of kin had been notified and they were being supported by specialist officers.
“The cause of the fire is not yet known, the investigation into the situation continues.
“Officers arrived at the scene and assisted LFB with a road closure, while firefighters attempted to extinguish the fire,” police added.
About 25 firefighters battled the flames and brought the blaze under control shortly after 03:00 GMT.
