Surgeon accused of murder allegedly lurked at ex-wife’s home weeks before

A newly unsealed affidavit alleges that the surgeon accused of killing his ex-wife and her dentist husband was holed up in the victims’ home for weeks before they were shot.
Accordingly WBNS-TVCiting a recently released probable cause affidavit, Monique Tepe’s ex-husband, Michael McKee, said on Dec. 6, weeks before the couple was killed on Dec. 30, her husband, Dr. She has been seen outside or near the Columbus, Ohio, home she shares with Spencer Tepe.
According to the report, on December 6, Monique and Spencer were with friends at the Big Ten Championship game in Indiana when Monique returned to her hotel during the second half of the game.
McKee was allegedly filmed entering Tepes’ property on N. 4th Street on Dec. 6, 2025, and leaving a few hours later while the couple was away.

Friends and family told detectives that Monique described McKee as an abuser during and after the marriage, according to the affidavit. A witness detailed allegations of strangulation and non-consensual sex.

The documents allege McKee threatened Monique’s life, saying he “could kill her at any time,” and promised to pursue her by buying a house next door, claiming she would “always be his wife.”
When asked why Monique left the game, Spencer said she was “sorry about an issue with her ex-husband and was going back to the hotel,” according to the statement.

“We know it’s her ex-husband, so it’s related to domestic violence. And as the case progresses, we will likely be able to get more answers as accusations are revealed. But we don’t currently have an answer as to why.,” Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant previously told Fox News Digital.
McKee has pleaded not guilty to four counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated burglary and is being held without bail at the James A. Karnes Correctional Facility in Franklin County.
