Suspect sought after man breaks into Vaughan synagogue

A bicycle-riding thief broke into a Vaughan synagogue and made off with cash, alcohol and food after damaging computers at the place of worship.

York Regional Police said a man forced his way into the synagogue on Bathurst St. and Lady Dolores Ave. around 11 p.m. on July 29. He allegedly remained there for several hours, causing damage to computers and an audio system.

Police alleged the thief fled with cash, alcohol, and food on a bicycle and was last seen peddling south along Bathurst St.

Police have released an image of a suspect and urged anyone with information to call 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7445.
