Suspects go on trial for Moscow concert hall attack

For 19 defendants accused of participating in last year’s shooting attacks at a Moscow Concert Hall last year, a hearing began in one of the most deadly attacks in the Russian capital over the years.

A fraction of the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for March 22, 2024, massacred the Crocus Town Hall concert venue, which was allegedly on fire by a popular rock band, a popular rock band and then set the building on fire.

President Vladimir Putin and other Russian officials claimed that Ukraine had a role in the attack without providing evidence. Kyiv strongly rejected any participation.

The investigation committee, which is the best criminal investigation agency of Russia, concluded that the attack was “planned and realized for the current leadership of Ukraine to destabilize the political situation in our country.”

The committee also stated that four suspected armed men later tried to escape to Ukraine.

All of them, all defined as Tajikistan citizens, were arrested hours after the attack and said that he was seriously beaten in a Moscow court.

Earlier this year, the Committee said that six suspects were accused of absenteeism and that they were placed on the sought -after list of Russia, allegedly hired and organized by four. At the hearing, the other defendants were accused of helping them.

The prosecutor’s office said that the roughly half of the deaths was caused by Burns, who continued during the fire, not from gunfire.

Although the hearing was previously announced, the full start date was kept hidden until the end of the week.
