SUV Gutted On Kanakadurga Flyover

Vijayawada: An SUV was gutted at the Kanakdurga flyover in the city on Monday. According to reports, the vehicle was being towed to Mangalagiri from a security office in Gollapudi when the incident occurred. There was no loss of life as the passengers got off on time.

Western District Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Durga Rao said, “The fire broke out from the wheels of the SUV, which were in extremely bad condition. The prevailing summer heat aggravated the situation, leading to the fire. No deaths or injuries were reported.” he said.

The fire brigade was immediately notified and the fire was extinguished, but the vehicle became completely unusable in the incident. Police registered a case of accidental fire.
