Swanky London members club hiring butter pro

A swanky new members’ club in London is hiring a “butter sommelier”.
Pembroke in Belgravia, which opens its doors in the autumn, is looking for a candidate “with a deep love and understanding of butter” to “improve our butter range and help train staff using our silver butter trolley.”
The “super” members’ club, which is advertising a “butter sommelier” role in Country Life, is also looking for a “sports czar”.
A “charismatic” person who will be “willing to work late” will be employed to ensure the nine screens in the club’s billiards room show relevant sporting events.
“You will notice and fine-tune the spontaneity and sophistication inherent in the perfect seating plan,” the ad read.
A source at The Pembroke told The Times that the unconventional job roles were paid.
They added: “It may sound indulgent, but it’s actually a sign of the times. There’s a sommelier for wine, a barista for coffee, so why not butter? Expectations have changed. We live in an age of hyper-specialisation.”
“Members don’t just want what’s good; they want it to be thought through, edited, and presented expertly. We think that level of detail is important if we’re going to ask members to trust us with their time.”
