Sweet moment Kate cheekily waves to onlookers before riding along with the RNLI on the Thames

The Princess of Wales shared a sweet moment with royal fans at the engagements in London yesterday.

Kate, 44, enjoyed a jam-packed day in the British capital yesterday with Prince William, 43, from pouring pints on the Bermondsey Beer Mile to whipping up a cappuccino in Borough Market.

And in one particularly heartwarming moment, just before the royal couple boarded a lifeboat on the Thames, Kate, dressed in a life jacket, shared a wave with onlookers waiting to catch a glimpse of her.

Kate and William visited the RNLI Lifeboat Station on the River Thames to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the RNLI Lifeboats.

Those moments after being shared on Instagram @kingsguardtoursThe royal delighted fans with one writing: ‘She’s a dream.’

Another said: ‘My favorite couple.’ Others shared their love hearts under the clip.

Elsewhere yesterday, Kate left it to her husband to sample the beer and cider and revealed she had cut down on alcohol ‘since her diagnosis’.

Kate underwent chemotherapy in 2024 and announced last year that the cancer was in remission.

During their visit to Fabal Beerhall, the Prince and Princess were told about the Bermondsey Beer Trail, which is home to a variety of craft breweries and taprooms.

When invited to sample beer and cider this afternoon, Kate told owner Hannah Rhodes: ‘I haven’t had much alcohol since my diagnosis.’

He added: ‘This is something I need to be much more conscious of now.’ Mrs Rhodes, who instead offered Kate a soft drink, said: ‘Fair enough.’

Turning to William, Kate patted her husband’s knee and said: ‘But you like cider, don’t you?’

The Princess wore a £95 blue shirt from British womenswear brand With Nothing Underneath; In addition, Catherine Walker was wearing a blazer, chocolate brown cigarette trousers and new suede ankle boots by Jimmy Choo.

William tried beer and cider, some of which came from Ms Rhodes’s brand, Hiver, which uses honey from beehives instead of sugar in fermentation.

Kate, who is known as a hive-keeping beekeeper at her Norfolk home Anmer Hall, tested some of the honey by dipping a stick into the jar. The princess said: ‘If you take the honey out of the hive at the beginning of summer, it will taste very different.’

Speaking about harvesting honey from the hives, she added: ‘If you take the honey off when it’s wet, it is a natural fermentation process anyway.’

William laughed and joked: ‘He knows a lot about bees. Be careful what you say, maybe you’ll be corrected.’

Earlier in the day, William and Kate tried their hands at brewing beer at nearby Southwark Brewing Company, a craft beer firm down Bermondsey’s Beer Mile that was established in 2014 as one of the region’s first small-batch breweries under the railway arches.

While congratulating Peter Jackson, 66, they were shown how to climb a ladder, with William wearing black rubber gloves to add hops to his ‘kettle’.

After pouring the hops, William said: ‘It smells like horse feed when you do it. “There is a real mix of scents.”

Mr Jackson joked: ‘Yes. It’s a good thing it changes when it reaches your glass.’

Kate then went up the stairs to mix them up. They then had a competition to see who could pull off the best pint, and Kate and William’s was declared better than the owner’s.

Mr. Jackson told them: ‘You know what? ‘You can come back for a shift on Saturday.’

He then took out his mobile phone to make a video call to his accountant son Will Jackson, who was celebrating his 34th birthday in Manchester.

After showing Mr Jackson how to initiate the call from his phone, the Prince said: ‘William, happy birthday. I hope you have a nice party tonight.’

When told he had gone to a restaurant to celebrate, the Prince said: ‘Is your father paying? We’re here trying not to ruin his brewery. ‘We’ve just been given a pint pulling competition.’

William later said: ‘Pubs are so important’ and that they are ‘places where people and the community come together’.

The brewery emerged in 2009 when Kernel Brewery was located under the railway arches near London Bridge, sparking a craft beer revolution in the area.

On another date yesterday, the couple served cakes and pudding to unsuspecting customers who made a surprise appearance in Borough Market.

William and Kate got to work chopping cheese, while the Princess made coffee for her husband, who suggested he could sell it at a market stall.

They were greeted by crowds of Londoners and tourists who appeared shocked to see the future King and Queen and gathered around them, snapping photos on their phones.

As William and Kate strolled through the market on foot on this previously unannounced outing, crowds milled around them without security barriers.

This was their first stop on a day in London; They made several unannounced visits, culminating in an engagement at an RNLI tower station on the River Thames.

Kensington Palace said the program was built around the river and was designed to show how the city remained at the heart of London’s communities and commerce.
