Sydney family home with child targeted in brazen drive-by shooting

A gunshot to a family home occupied by two women and a child in Sydney’s west has led to the capture of the alleged attacker.
Police were called to the house in Hunt Street, Guildford West, at 12.30am. Two women, aged 45 and 23, and a seven-year-old child escaped unharmed.
Authorities were told shots were fired into the home before a white hatchback left the scene.
Following the incident, emergency services were called to James Street, Guildford West, at around 3.20am the same day to reports of a car fire.
A white hatchback was found burned. Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire.

According to the information obtained, a gun was found in the burning vehicle and was seized and is being tested.
Multiple crime scenes have been identified and police are investigating if the two incidents are linked.
“It’s not a nice thing to happen to them and it’s outrageous that these things happen in society,” Detective Inspector Ricki Lindner told Nine.
“This is brazen, it is blatant, it is dangerous and the community and the police will not tolerate it,” he said.

“The police take this type of behavior, this brazen behavior, very seriously.”
The number of shots fired has not yet been determined by the expert police.
The white hatchback was pulled away with charred debris and melted glass behind it.
