Sydney protest to shut Harbour Bridge for 5 hours on Sunday; see which roads, buses, ferries and metro lines are affected
The event, which is expected to draw up to 50,000 participants, will significantly affect the road and public transport networks in Sydney.
Transportnsw calls drivers and public transport users to avoid non -compulsory travels via CBD and North Sydney.
Sydney Harbor Bridge Protesting Road Closing Update
The closure of the Port Bridge will affect several connection paths. Delays can also be poured into the surrounding areas.
For NSW, Transport proposes to use the Gladesville Bridge and Victoria Road as an alternative to Basic Journeys, especially from the North Coast to Sydney Airport. Great blockage is expected:
- Sydney port tunnel
- Western distributor
- Anzac Bridge
- Rozelle Junction
- East distributor
- Gore Hill Motorway
- Lane Cove Tunnel
Public transport deductions
Normally, the buses passing the port bridge will end in North Sydney or Wynyard during the closing. Travelers should wait for a significant crowd on these stations and nearby platforms.
- Metro: There is no service between Tallawong and Sydenham due to parts work. Buses will replace the services between Tallawong and Chatswood. There are trains between Chatswood, city and Sydenham.
- Trains: Spare buses will work between Central and T4 Eastern suburbs and Illawarra line and the Bondi Junction on the South Coast line.
- Light Ray: L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Services will stop more than 12 o’clock and will be considered safe once.
- Ferries: As vehicles go into alternative transportation, services may face excessive crowds.
Continuing the court approved Sydney Harbor protest
The New Southern South Wales Supreme Court reversed the previous police objections and allowed them to march. Justice Belinda Rigg, the protest, “the horror and urgency of the situation in Gaza requires an emergency and extraordinary reaction,” he said.
The Palestinian Action group organizing the protest described the activity as a bir a tremendous march for humanity ”on social media.
