Taapsee Finds Film Production Both Liberating and Challenging

Taapsee Pannu, who produced Blurr, enjoyed the process so much that she is considering making more films. But he also shares that being a producer isn’t easy.

“The challenge for me is to find subjects and directors that suit my wavelength. Now I look at various subjects and directors. I want to make films that I believe in,” says the actor.

He finds filmmaking liberating. But more importantly, he says, he feels a sense of ownership. “Because you’re the one who’s going to put things together, put the team together, pick the right person to take on a particular role, and that gives you a sense of responsibility. But it’s also extremely challenging.”

“As an actor, you are only responsible for your Yes or No, but when you become a producer, you are responsible for getting Yes from everyone and keeping everyone on the same page, which is much harder than being just an actor on the set,” says Taapsee, who also starred in her debut production, Blurr.
