Police deploy extra patrols after Perth boy charged over the indecent assault of 14 women
Police arrested a 14-year-old boy and charged him with a series of alleged attacks on women over two weeks and increased patrols in the area as the investigation continued.
They said the incidents occurred while the women were walking or running in the Lake Goollelal and Shepherds Bush Reserve area in Kingsley and along Hepburn Avenue in Hillarys.
They allege 14 women were indecently assaulted by the teenager riding an e-bike between February 28 and March 15.
The Darch boy was charged with 14 counts of unlawful and indecent assault, four counts of having no authority to drive and four counts of operating an unregistered vehicle on the road.
Despite the charges, police continue to investigate and “actively review information and conduct further investigations to ensure all incidents are fully investigated.”
“Police acknowledge the concern these incidents may cause in the community and reassure residents that additional patrols and investigative resources have been deployed to affected areas,” they said.
The teenager will appear before Joondalup Children’s Court on April 14.
