Babar Azam booed by Australian crowd in Big Bash League after another flop show, gets brutally trolled by netizens

Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam has become meme fodder for netizens after his back-to-back flop display in the ongoing Big Bash League.

Babar Azam scored just 9 runs off 10 balls

Adelaide Strikers defeated Sydney Sixers in the 4th match of the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL). With this win, the Strikers sit third in the BBL 2025-26 Points Table; The Sixers are in 7th place with consecutive defeats. The lack of opening of the batsmen, especially Babar Azam, is considered to be the main reason for the Sixers’ defeat in these matches. The star Pakistani batsman once again failed to score big and conceded just 9 runs in 10 deliveries.

Shortly after clips of Babar being dismissed by Luke Wood went viral, a number of hilarious memes began circulating online questioning the Pakistani player’s suitability for international leagues.

Check out some of these:

Meanwhile, Jamie Overton won the Player of the Match award with his 30 from 20 balls and two wickets for 22 from 4 overs. ”I’d like to think so too (if the chase was under control), but in the first games of the season you always want to get over the line. So it’s nice to do that and get our first win on the board. It’s never easy to meet these guys; They are one of the best franchises in the world, so getting a win in the opening game is very satisfying. Yeah, I think it’s been about 8 years, so it was great to break that duck. That makes it even more special,” Overton said after the game.

Babar Azam will be on the field again when Sydney Sixers will face Sydney Thunder on Saturday, December 20. Next, the Sixers will face the Melbourne Stars on December 26 and the Melbourne Renegades on January 1, 2026.
