The Delegation of the United Kingdom Crown Prosecutor’s Office (CPS) recently visited the Tihar prison in Delhi. The visit aimed to ensure the return of high -profile economic criminals. The team examined the prison facilities and evaluated the living conditions for prisoners.
According to reports, the CPS team toured the high -security wards of Asia’s largest prison and even interacted with some prisoners. The visit aimed to ensure that the British courts will be confident that the fugitives returned to India, including businessman Vijay Mallya and Jewelery Nirav Modi, will be in a safe and safe environment.
During the visit, the Indian officials gave information to the British delegation about the infrastructure of Tihar prison, health facilities and security protocols. They also assured that prisoners returned from the UK would not encounter any ill -treatment or illegal interrogation while in custody.
