Licences of doctors accused in Delhi car blast revoked

The National Medical Commission on Friday, November 14, 2025, removed the names of Muzaffar Ahmad, Adeel Ahmad Pretty, Muzamil Shakeel and Shaheen Saeed, who were charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act following the Delhi blast, from the National Medical Register.

Doctors will not be allowed to practice medicine or hold any appointment as medical doctors until a new instruction from the commission.

Investigations into the seizure of 2,900 kg of explosives on November 10 and the powerful vehicle explosion that killed 13 people near the Red Fort later the same day led to the arrest of eight people, including doctors, while many others were detained.

In its announcement on Friday, November 14, 2025, the commission listed the charges against the doctors and said: “Dr. Muzaffar Ahmad, Dr. Adeel Ahmad Pretty and Dr. Muzamil Shakeel, registered with the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council, have been found to be involved in the case based on the evidence collected by the investigating agencies.” The commission said such association or conduct was prima facie “contrary to the standards of ethical propriety, probity and public trust” expected of members of the medical profession and the provisions under the Medical Council of India (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002 apply.

In the statement, Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council, Dr. Ahmad, Dr. Pretty, Dr. Shakeel and Dr. It was stated that Saeed ordered the cancellation of their registrations and directed that the names of these persons be removed from the records of medical doctors maintained by him with immediate effect.

“Upon such dismissal, the said physician shall cease to be entitled to practice medicine or hold any appointment as a physician until further orders,” the statement said.

“Therefore, in view of the notifications dated November 13 by the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council regarding cancellation of registration of the above mentioned doctors, the names of these doctors will be removed from the Indian Medical Register/National Medical Register with immediate effect,” the notification said.
