CENTCOM conducts 10 military strikes against 30 ISIS targets in Syria

US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that it had carried out ten strikes against more than 30 people. ISIS has been targeting targets in Syria in recent days as part of a joint military effort to “maintain relentless military pressure on the remnants of the terrorist network.”
CENTCOM said that between February 3 and 12, its forces “hit ISIS infrastructure and weapons storage targets with precision munitions delivered by fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and unmanned aerial vehicles.”

Lately, CENTCOM forces carried out five attacks on ISIS’ communications area, critical logistics point, and weapons storage facilities in Syria between January 27 and February 2.

“Hitting these targets demonstrates our continued focus and determination to prevent the resurgence of ISIS in Syria,” Adm. Brad Cooper, CENTCOM commander, said in a statement at the time.
“Coordinating with coalition and partner forces to ensure the lasting defeat of ISIS makes America, the region, and the world safer,” he added.

President Trump told reporters on January 27 that he had a “great conversation” with Syria’s “highly respected” President Ahmed al-Shara.

“Things are going very, very well in this region with Syria,” President Trump said. “So we’re very happy about that.”
The Operation Hawkeye Strike mission was launched in response to an ISIS “ambush” attack in Palmyra, Syria, on December 13, 2025, that resulted in the deaths of two US soldiers and an American translator.

“During two months of targeted operations, more than 50 ISIS terrorists were killed or captured and more than 100 ISIS infrastructure targets were hit with hundreds of precision munitions,” CENTCOM said.

On Thursday, CENTCOM announced that it had completed the withdrawal of American forces from the Al-Tanf Garrison in Syria, signaling a broader shift in the US posture in the region.

Operation Inherent Resolve was launched in 2014 to fight ISIS, with American troops maintaining a limited presence to support joint forces and prevent ISIS from returning after it was regionally defeated in 2019.
