The game is a recreation of the original Black Flag, developed using the latest version of Ubisoft’s Anvil engine. The project is led by Ubisoft Singapore, with several developers from the original game involved in bringing the game to current-gen hardware with technical improvements and additional content.

New content and gameplay additions
Resynced preserves the original narrative while introducing new features, missions and gameplay elements. Players will be able to recruit officers with unique abilities for naval battles and explore reworked locations that offer new rewards and encounters. Additional missions and scenes featuring returning voice actor Matt Ryan were also included.
Added expanded customization options for Little Crow, including new skins and companion pets. Kenway’s Fleet system has been reworked to allow players to earn passive income through trading and activities.
Pre-order bonuses and additional content
Players who pre-order the Standard or Deluxe editions will receive the Blackbeard Crimson pack, which includes weapons with unique perks and a costume for Edward Kenway.

Naval combat and exploration improvements
Naval combat has been updated with new secondary weapons, including shrapnel barrels and additional artillery options. Enemy ships and groups have been redesigned with various equipment based on alliances.
The track system has been improved with new movement options, while environmental systems such as dynamic weather and destructible objects aim to increase immersion. Water physics and rendering have also been modernized.
Visual and technical improvements
