ICE agent Jonathan Ross who killed Renee Nicole Good now a millionaire thanks to online fundraisers… after GoFundMe netted Good’s family seven-figure amount

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who shot and killed Renee Nicole Good is now a millionaire after receiving thousands in crowdfunding donations.
Officer Jonathan ‘Jon’ Ross, 43, has raised more than $1 million from GoFundMe and GiveSendGo supporters. Neither campaign was created by Ross.
GoFundMe has received more than $747,000 in donations. Campaign organizer Clyde Emmons branded Good a ‘domestic terrorist’ and wrote that Ross was ‘1000 per cent right to shoot’ and deserved to be funded.
GiveSendGo campaign creator Tom Hennessey called Good a ‘radical leftist agitator’ and called on ‘America First patriots’ to support the ‘fearless’ Ross, who ‘fired in self-defense to neutralize the threat’. The campaign raised more than $279,000.
Although most of the more than 21,000 donations were donated anonymously, billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, who is backing Donald Trump in the 2024 election, is listed as the largest donor on GoFundMe.
Ackman gifted the manager $10,000 and called the shooting a “tragedy” in a post on X. The Pershing Square CEO added that Good had tried to support a fundraiser for his family, but it had already been shut down after raising over $1.5 million.
FBI investigators are conducting an extensive investigation into Good’s shooting death, but sources close to the investigation have suggested it is “increasingly likely” that Ross will face criminal charges.
The Justice Department’s civil rights division, which typically investigates police-involved shootings, has not opened an investigation into whether Ross violated Good’s rights under federal law, an insider told the New York Times.

The Trump administration claimed that Ross (along with his wife in 2012) suffered internal bleeding in his torso at the time of the shooting
Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed on January 7 after she refused ICE’s orders to take her car.
Federal investigators are reportedly looking into Good’s possible ties to activist groups protesting Trump’s crackdown on immigrants.
The Department of Justice reportedly plans to investigate a large group of activists who participated in ICE surveillance activities in a Minneapolis neighborhood and believe they were the ‘instigators’ of the attack.
It remains unclear whether Good, a 37-year-old mother of three, participated in any protests in Minneapolis on the day she was killed, in addition to attending a protest against ICE actions.
Good’s family has retained the Chicago-based firm Romanucci & Blandin, which represents George Floyd’s family, to conduct a civil investigation into the deadly shooting.
The firm, which helped secure a $27 million settlement for Floyd’s family, said it would release information in the coming weeks.
The Good family accuses federal immigration officials of killing him and said in a statement Wednesday that they want to be remembered as “agents of peace.” They also urged the public not to use his death as a political flashpoint.
Ross similarly sought legal advice from Minnesota gubernatorial candidate Chris Madel, KSTP reported.
Madel confirmed his involvement in the case to the press. He also noted that Ross has applied for legal representation under federal regulations and will likely be defended by Justice Department officials if necessary.
The Trump administration defended the ICE officer’s actions, saying he fired in self-defense while standing in front of Good’s vehicle as it began to advance.
This statement was criticized by Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and others based on videos of the confrontation.

Should law enforcement personal fundraisers be banned in such cases?

GiveSendGo co-founder Jacob Wells confirmed that all campaigns on his platform will go directly to Ross, noting that some of the funds on his site have already been given to the officer.
Although most of the more than 21,000 donations were made anonymously, billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, who is backing Donald Trump in the 2024 election, is listed as the largest donor on GoFundMe.
The Trump administration confirmed to the Daily Mail on Wednesday that Ross suffered internal bleeding in his torso during the Jan. 7 encounter.
The extent of his condition still remains unclear, as internal bleeding can also be classified as a bruise or contusion causing minor or serious injury.
He was later hospitalized and released the same day, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said.
In addition to the main fundraisers on GoFundMe and GiveSendGo, Ross’ supporters organized other campaigns in his honor, but they did not receive nearly as many donations.
GiveSendGo co-founder Jacob Wells confirmed that all campaigns on his platform will go directly to Ross, noting from his site that some funds have already been given to the officer.
It’s unclear whether the same applies to GoFundMe campaigns. The Daily Mail contacted the fundraising site for comment and a spokesperson recently said they generally only suspend campaigns aimed at people accused of offences.
Wells also criticized other crowdfunding sites for allegedly censoring the types of fundraising allowed on their platforms.
“I can safely say that the primary reason the GoFundMe fundraising campaign for the ICE agent continues to be allowed is because GiveSendGo exists,” he tweeted.
‘Our competitors have a history of canceling law enforcement fundraisers caught in similar difficult moments. There was a time when they thought they could cancel everyone with impunity. This period has ended. ‘They now know better that they continue to lose market share to us.’
Footage allegedly recorded by Ross shows Renee Nicole Good and her partner taunting ICE agents before the fatal shooting.
Witnesses said Good and his partner Rebecca (filmed minutes before the shooting) acted as legal observers and filmed the day’s protest
The video of the fatal shooting quickly became politicized; One side said Good deliberately tried to hit Ross with his car, while the other side said he was just trying to drive away.
Good’s partner, Rebecca Good, and other relatives claimed the couple dropped their 6-year-old child off at school on Jan. 7 and stopped to observe law enforcement activity.
In the footage, a red SUV driven by Renee Good stands upright and blocks part of the road. He honks the horn repeatedly.
Shortly after, a truck carrying immigration officers pulls up, two men get out, and one of them orders Good to open his door. He backs up briefly, then turns the steering wheel towards the passenger side as the officer says ‘get out of the car’ again.
Almost simultaneously, Rebecca, who was standing on the passenger side and trying to open the door, shouted, ‘Drive baby, drive!’ he shouts. When the police officer in front of the vehicle opens fire, the SUV moves forward and gunshots are heard.
He was then shot in the face before crashing into his car. Ross was seen walking away after the incident.
The couple stopped to support their neighbor, Rebecca told Minnesota Public Radio on Friday: ‘We blew the whistle. “They had guns.”
He referred to Renee Good as his wife. However, Romanucci & Blandin has since said that Renee and Becca ‘are not legally married but are partners committed to their family.’
Footage captured on security cameras shows Good blocking the road with his SUV for four minutes before he was killed.
Good was shot three times in the face during a protest in Minneapolis and died at the scene.
In a harrowing video shot at the scene, Rebecca admitted to encouraging her wife to confront the agents. He said ‘I brought him here, it’s my fault’
Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem claimed Good was after Ross that day, that he was committing “domestic terrorism” and was a “professional agitator.”
But on Monday, Good’s grieving family said he was not actually him and did not have a criminal history as many online users claimed.
‘I kept pretty quiet about it because I wanted to wait for our family to make a statement and for it to eventually be published. Good’s sister-in-law, Morgan Fletcher, wrote on Facebook: You never think that the passing of a loved one would attract attention or become a hugely divisive, political issue.
“And we saw false allegations and false information being published regarding Renee Good (criminal history? She didn’t have any),” said Fletcher, who is a relative of Good’s late ex-husband, Timmy Macklin Jr..
