No protein shakes, just home-cooked meals: Construction worker tells how he got a chiselled body through rice and sambar. Watch

A video of a construction worker from Chennai is gaining attention online after a creator highlighted his naturally muscular physique and disciplined lifestyle. Despite working long physically demanding hours under the sun, the worker follows a strict weekly exercise routine and a basic home-cooked diet without any supplements or shortcuts.

A routine based on consistency, not comfort

During an interaction with content creator Jayachandran Tamilarasan, the employee explained that his fitness is not accidental but is the result of a fixed weekly schedule. Even after working out all day, he still manages to train five days a week.

Sharing her plan, she said, “On Monday I do chest training, on Tuesday I do shoulders training, Wednesday is for back training, Thursday is dedicated to biceps and triceps and Friday is leg day.” he said.

But he is aware of his limits. Since his job already requires intense physical effort, he avoids pushing too hard on certain days. “I don’t do extreme leg workouts,” he added.

High-carb meals boost your day

Unlike popular gym advice, which often focuses on protein-heavy diets, the workout relies on carbohydrates to fuel its energy-intensive routine.
He eats three meals a day, consisting mostly of rice and simple home-cooked meals. “No idli, dosa,” he said, explaining his choices.
Elaborating further, she shared: “I eat only white rice, along with sambar, rasam and curries made from beetroot, carrots and other vegetables. I eat only white rice for all three meals. I rarely eat fruits and have non-veg once a week. I don’t eat mutton, chicken or fish only once a week.”

No shortcuts, no attachments

What stands out the most is its complete reliance on natural methods. She has made it clear that she does not use performance enhancers or follow trending diet plans.

“I eat, work out, and then I go to the gym,” he said, adding that he does not consume whey protein or any commercial supplements.

His routine also includes proper rest with at least seven hours of sleep every night.

A simple message that sparks interest

Beyond workouts and meals, his advice is simple and based on daily discipline.

“Eat home-cooked food. Do not eat junk food. Stay away from alcohol and cigarettes,” he advised.

At a time when fitness is often associated with expensive memberships, supplements and complicated routines, this story of a worker from Chennai stands out for its simplicity.
