Police confirmed a suspect was detained.

Tacoma Police said four students and a security guard were among those injured, according to KVUE.

The Tacoma Fire Department confirmed that the injured were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

It was stated that the stabbing incident was reported shortly before 13.40 and the quarantine at the school continued.

It was learned that parents were informed about the situation.

Foss High School had previously been the scene of a shooting incident that claimed the life of a student in January 2007, after which students were evacuated from the building.
