Delhi HC to Hear on Aug 25 AAP’s Plea for Allotting Govt Accommodation to Kejriwal

New Delhi: On August 25, the Supreme Court of Delhi would address the objection of the AAM AADMİ Party (AAP), seeking housing accommodation in the National Capital to the national gatherer and former Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Justice Sachin Datta postponed the issue for a detailed hearing about the defense seeking instructions to the center to allocate accommodation to Kejriwal.

The petition said that in accordance with the allocation guidelines from the general pool to political parties, the president of a well -known national party, neither being a host nor any other official capacity, he said he was entitled to a government residence in Delhi.

Senior lawyer Rahul Mehra, who represents the party, said, “All prerequisites have been met. There is also a national meeting that is a national president. We demand a central housing.” He said.

Mehra reported that the AAP first wrote to the authorities on September 20 last year and then a reminder was made, but no action was taken.

He said that when there was no one of the previous bench, he gave the party office area and the current demand was for housing accommodation.

The petition stated that Kejriwal had evacuated his official house in Flagstaff Road after resigning as Prime Minister on October 4th.

Since then, Mandi House has been in the official residence of another party member near House, he added.
