BJP is Conspiring to Eliminate the Congress: Bhatti

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka alleged that the BJP was conspiring to eliminate the Congress and was talking about amending the Constitution to weaken the Grand Old Party, which not only secured India’s independence but also passed various revolutionary laws to ensure economic, social and political equality.

Addressing the participants at the district Congress committee (DCC) orientation camp held in Vikarabad, Bhatti said that some political forces want the society to remain socially and economically divided. Admitting that caste remains a reality, he shared that he too experienced caste discrimination but continued to achieve his goals with determination, without allowing discrimination to hinder progress.

Deputy CM stated that only if Rahul Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister, a solution to the deep-rooted problems of the country can be found. He appealed to DCC chairmen in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to work continuously until Rahul Gandhi becomes Prime Minister and strive to win maximum number of MP seats in both the states.

Bhatti announced that efforts are on to pass legislation in Karnataka and Telangana on behalf of PhD student Rohith Vemula, who died by suicide following reports of caste discrimination. Bhatti said Rahul Gandhi had promised fair distribution of resources and wealth before the Assembly elections and the Congress government was implementing development and welfare programs in Telangana accordingly.

Later in the day, former APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy emphasized the need to further strengthen the party from village to district level. He said that a leadership that works with a comprehensive understanding of people’s problems will strengthen the party. He called on DCC chairmen to work not only as organizers but also as soldiers and to lead people’s struggles. Raghuveera Reddy said that the responsibility of informing the public about the welfare and development programs implemented by the Congress in the past lies with the DCC chairmen.
