Jaishankar Meets Russian Counterpart Lavrov In Moscow; Discusses Strengthening Ties Amid US Sanctions | India News

New Delhi: Minister of Foreign Affairs. S. Jaishankar met with Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on Thursday to review bilateral relations against the US sanction threats on India-Russia energy trade.

During the meeting, Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar stressed that the meeting gave India and Russia the opportunity to discuss political relations and bilateral ties. The Russian Foreign Minister emphasized the relationship between the new Delhi and Moscow, stating that both countries fully justified the strategic and privileged partnership.

Lavrov’s statement came to cooperate with Jaishankar’s traveling to Russia this week, a key organ meeting that controls trade and economic relations.

In the midst of tensions on trade disputes between the new Delhi and Washington, and the sharp objections of the Trump administration against India’s ongoing defense and energy cooperation with Moscow, high -level Indian and Russian officials held high -level discussions in the Russian capital.

In his meeting with Russia’s first Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov on Wednesday, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar called for a forward -looking and adaptable approach to visit today’s geopolitical complexities. Emphasizing the need for innovation in binary vineyards, “India and Russia should emerge with a creative and innovative approach to confront complex geopolitical challenges,” he said.
