David Lammy deploys army of top diplomats to kickstart economic growth and combat impact of Trump tariffs

David Lammy finally brought home a team of England’s distinguished diplomats in order to start economic growth and combat the global impact of Donald Trump’s tariffs.
Senior Ambassadors and High Commissioners have returned to England to participate in a country -wide road trip to encourage businesses to export and connect with countries where they were sent.
The E-Commerce Trade Commission has recently reported that 70,000 enterprises that are ready to export in the UK are still not exporting.
The Commission estimated that if the UK businesses fulfill their potential to connect with foreign markets, a growth of £ 7 billion could be opened in the economy.

“In the ‘change plan of this government’, the economic interests of British enterprises are at the center of our foreign policy.”
Roadshow follows every Roadshow stop designed to target one of the eight growth sectors, including defense, clean energy, life sciences, digital technology, advanced production and services.
On Thursday, Britain’s Ambassador to Japan, Julia Longbottom, visited Portsmouth last week with more than 10 visits, and more in summer and autumn.
Longbottom visited Griffon Marine, British hovecraft manufacturers, who had a multi -million -pound agreement with Oita City and Oita Airport in Kunisaki and Oita Airport in Kunisaki, with a Multi Milli -pound agreement agreement with officials in Japan.
He said: “I was especially excited by all fantastic opportunities for Portsmouth’s powerful defense industry base, the latest technology and advanced production sector and partnership with Japan.”
On Monday, Belgian Ambassador Anne Sherriff visited South Wales for a meeting with the Wales Government International Relations Director. The first promotional trip proceeded to the north -east of England with South Korean Ambassador Colin Crooks last week. The Ambassador visited firms connected to clean energy with a tour of Tees Works Freeport and met with the General Manager of England Seah Wind, a South Korean company that built a wind turbine production facility in Teesside.
Meanwhile, while the Denmark Ambassador Joelle Jenny visited Lincolnshire, the Italian Ambassador Ed Llewellyn South Yorkshire went to Yorkshire.
