Australian prosecutors appeal mushroom murderer’s ‘inadequate’ sentence

Last week, lawyer Richard Edney said he aimed to object to a hearing in Melbourne, but this has not yet been officially placed.

Patterson’s charm is not an automatic right. The legal team should convince the Court of Appeal in Victoria state that there are legal mistakes and that they should hear the appeal. No details were given on the grounds of appeal.

His intense interest in his case has created a media madness and landed on the small court in the town of Morwell, as well as journalists, podcasts and documentary producers from around the world.

The judge, Patterson’s reputation and the high level of media and public interest in the case, “for many years to remain a bad prisoner and therefore to remain at a significant risk from other prisoners,” he said.

Justice Beale also announced the existing prison conditions of Patterson, and a woman spent 22 hours a day in her cell without contacting other prisoners due to the “Great Criminal Status”.
