Veteran Senator Destroys JD Vance After He Compares Her To Forrest Gump

Vice PresidentJ.D. VanceTried to taunt a Democratic senator and veteran after he pressured herSecretary of State Marco Rubio onWhether the United States is at war with Venezuela.

At a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Wednesday, Rubio insisted that the United States is not at war with the South American country.Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) asking whether he would recommend the president “repeal the wartime Alien Adversaries Act.”

“Of course not,” Rubio responded. “When it comes to drug trafficking gangs and criminal gangs, there is no doubt that we are facing them in a war-like environment.”

The heated exchange apparently caught Vance’s attention, and he took the chance to troll Duckworth, the former Army helicopter pilot and Purple Heart recipient who lost partial use of her legs and right arm during the Iraq War in 2004, by comparing her to Forrest Gump.

Watching Tammy Duckworth obsessively interrupt Marco Rubio during this hearing is like watching Forest Gump argue with Isaac Newton.

Vance may have thought he was gaining points with this post, but Duckworth responded with a strong, cutting response that favorably compared the actions of Tom Hanks’ iconic movie character to the actions of the president.

“Forrest Gump ran toward danger in Vietnam. Your boss ran crying to the podiatrist,” he noted, adding: “Minor insults at the expense of people with disabilities don’t change the fact that you’re risking soldiers’ lives to raise Chevron’s stock price.”

He added that his job as a senator is to “hold you accountable.”

Many enjoyed Duckworth’s brutal response, which had the pleasant side effect of keeping the vice president off social media, even if only for a few hours.

Vance never agreed with Duckworth’s masterful verbal parry, instead responding to the original post with shameless words of biblical praise for Rubio.

“Thank God we have a Secretary of State who knows the facts AND has the patience of Job. Great job, @SecRubio,” he posted.
