A55 LIVE: Conwy Tunnel fire shuts major road in both directions | UK | News

After a tunnel fire, it was forced to close in both directions and caused traffic chaos.

The A55 in Wales is closed due to a vehicle fire in the Conwy tunnel. It can be seen that smoke knows from the tunnel.

Firefighters are now being built at the scene and large queues are being built.

A traffic statement said: “Warning. Vehicle Fire A55 Conwy Tunnel – closed in both directions. Emergency services at the scene. Please avoid the region.”

The North Wales Fire and Rescue Service declared a “big event” and urged the nearby residents to close their doors and windows.
