All New RTC Buses must be EVs, Says AP CM Naidu

Vijayawada: Prime Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu discussed the issue of providing free bus travel facilities to women on APSRTC buses as of 15 August this year.

Authorities calculated that 2,536 buses needed to implement the new plan. This is expected to cost 996 Crore. Authorities also explained that CM should be developed for drinking water facilities, toilet maintenance, bus information boards and other facilities on the bus station.
The total population of the state is 5.25 Crore, which is 2.62 Crore women. Of these, the number of women traveling on Palle Velugu, Ultra Palle Velugu and city buses is currently 43.06 Crore. However, after the implementation of the free bus travel plan, the authorities announced to the Prime Minister that it could rise to 75.51 Crore. The authorities said that on average, each woman travels at least once a week. Similarly, the number of women traveling on Express and Metro Express buses is currently 6.85 Crore. After the application of the program, this number may rise to 13.39 Crore. In total, women can travel 88.90 Crore once a year with a free bus scheme.
