Palaniswami meets Shah in Delhi, discusses seat-sharing

:
A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the rally of the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Madurai, the Dravidian major’s general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami met Amit Shah in New Delhi on Monday night. Although details of the meeting are yet to be disclosed, it is understood that the two leaders discussed seat sharing for the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. As of now, most of the constituents of the NDA led by the BJP in the State during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections have remained in the AIADMK-led coalition. Former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, who was an ally of the BJP until mid-2025, switched to the DMK. While the AIADMK claims that it will form its own government in case of election victory, many BJP leaders also claim that it will be called the NDA regime.
