UN expert warns Australia over defence ties with Israel
The United Nations expert says Australia should interrupt defense agreements with Israel or the complexity of risk in genocide.
Australian Human Rights Lawyer Chris Sidoti said that despite the delayed recognition of the Palestinian province in the UN, the nation’s international reliability is even.
“We must end all defense cooperation, including closing the Defense and Trade Office of the Australian government in Jerusalem,” AAP said before a National Press Club address on Wednesday. He said.
“Responsibility is to do everything necessary to prevent the realization of the genocide in Gaza.”
Mr. Sidoti is one of the three commission members selected by the Human Rights Council, which found that Israel’s war crimes in Gaza constitute genocide in a 72 -page report published in early September.
The former Australian Human Rights Commissioner also called on Canberra to impose more comprehensive sanctions and to ensure that no Australian -made part to Israeli warplanes did not go.
Prime Minister Anthony Arbanese, who approved the government of Extreme Right Israeli Ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, used a trip to the UN in 2029 for the UN Security Council seat last week.
But he said that the nation should now act as a leader, Sidoti said.
“Australia, who wants to be a good international citizen who wants to become a member of the UN Security Council, needs to lead the support of international law.” He said.
“This is critical for Australia’s international reliability and even more critical for our self -esteem.”
According to the Ministry of Defense, more than 70 Australian companies contributed to the global supply chain for the F-35 fighter aircraft program.
Israel used their F-35s in Gaza, that is, Australia would contribute to the “international crime activities of the Israeli army” if its components were used in these jets, Sidoti said Sidoti.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote the report of Mr. Sidoti together at the UN General Assembly as “Foundation” and condemned other genocide allegations in Gaza.
