Industry body ISMA backs ethanol-blending programme, dismisses misinformation

New Delhi [India]August 9 (Memorial): Indian Sugar and Bio-Energy Producers Association (ISMA) strongly defended the country’s ethanol mixing program among the ‘misleading’ allegations about the impact of vehicle engines on vehicle engines.

Isma, said in a statement, 20 percent of the E20 fuel mixture mixed with gasoline mixed by Petroleum Marketing Companies (OMCS) has undergone meticulous tests and the Indian Automotive Research Association (ARAI) was completely compatible with Indian vehicles, he said.

The association said that automobile manufacturers have already produced E20 compatible models.

Referring to Brazil’s use of ethanol for decades, from E20 to E100 without major problems, Isma stressed that the South American nation has blended over 27 percent of gas in gasoline and targets 30 percent by 2030.

“Ethanol blended fuel is only a technological choice-a national necessity. It is a national necessity. It is a national obligation. He said.

Economically, the ethanol blending program has become a “game exchange” for more than five sugar cane farmers and La1.18 Lakh Crore was transferred to them.

Isma argued that the blending of the ethanol with gasoline improves the financial health of sugar factories, provides farmers on time and helps to manage excessive sugar stocks, ultimately stabilizes sugar cane prices and helps to protect farmer’s income.

The E20 target is also expected to save La35,000-40,000 Crore Foreign Exchange annually, reducing crude oil imports, which make up more than 85 percent of India’s consumption.

“The last negative campaign against ethanol blended fuels on social media is not only misleading, but also harmful to an important program.”

At the beginning of this week, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the latest claims on social media, E20 gasoline influenced motors, as well as a significant decrease in fuel efficiency also rejected the allegations. Although the ministry has a lower energy density of ethanol than gasoline, the impact on fuel efficiency is only marginal.

Ethanol blending in 2014 was only 1.53 percent. By 2022, India won 10 percent mixture five months before the program. By 2030, 20 percent blending (E20) has increased to 2025 and the current ethanol supply was already obtained in the supply. (MOMENT)
