Governor of California Gavin Newsom‘s press office responded to a New York Post article mocking his “testicle-crushing” sitting pose with a photo of the politician in an exaggerated, contorted position, which quickly went viral.
“Democracy requires flexibility,” Newsom’s office wrote in the post accompanying the photo.

The California governor was mocked online after a video showing him sitting with his legs crossed at The New York Times DealBook Summit on Wednesday sparked joking comments on social media.
“I’ve never seen a man crush his testicles as hard as this guy,” one user said.

The over-the-top photo of the press office sparked a new round of memes and jokes, with users questioning whether the governor’s team really wanted to publish it.
“They… Did they send this?” a man wrote.
“Gavin shows the taxation policy for your average California residence,” another user said.

Newsom captioned the viral photo with “WOW!” He responded by writing.
